Outside the Nursery Store
The attraction to this statue in the square was the light and shadow that fell across the figure as I was looking for something to demonstrate for my oil painting class in Gig Harbor. It was such a large, bold, organic shape in contrast to the pots and tools in the nursery, I couldn't resist her. Besides, I knew she would "hold the pose" for the duration. This is a small study approximately 8x10.
